OMAN COURSES

Age Range Course Description
All From beginners to the more advanced our courses aim to encourage children to participate in football, learning new skills and techniques. Children will learn how to playing football with imagination, pace, pride – working as a team and playing fair.
2 & 3 Year Olds This course aims to introduce your child to a football. Emphasis is placed on the child becoming comfortable with the movement of a ball, and promoting interaction with other children in a fun, learning environment.
3 & 4 Year Olds Following on from the previous course, with the same fundamental goal, we now aim to introduce the concept of other players and what they mean. For many children this will be the first time they experience being part of a team. However, our main focus remains to improve the children's understanding of ball movement/trajectory.
4 & 5 Year Olds This course acts as the transition zone between Soccertots and our main programme. It is an exciting course for those moving up from Soccertots, as it is their first experience of playing on the same pitch as older children. The material used for coaching is a little more complex but again delivered with an element of fun. Children now begin to work together as a team, and build on their confidence from previous courses.
5 & 6 Year Olds Our introductory course focuses on teaching the fundamental techniques of the game and showing players how to master these skills. Specifically designed for junior players with a fun and friendly atmosphere that encourages self-expression and enjoyment.
7 & 8 Year Olds Players continue to acquire and refine their basic skills but become more aware of the concept of working as a team and communicating with other players. Much of the coaching emphasis is placed on players developing their own abilities and then seeking to transfer these to game situations.
9 & 10 Year Olds Having acquired a range of skills, players in this age range are now encouraged to apply them effectively during small-sided games. Coaches will challenge players to be creative and to express themselves whilst also being aware of their responsibilities within the team unit.
11 & 12 Year Olds Players are taught the specifics of their preferred position and look to implement these during match situations. However, players are still encouraged to experiment and interchange their positions whilst they perfect their skills and adapt to new tactical demands.
13 & 14 Year Olds Players in these groups are challenged to combine their skills with speed of thought in order to raise their performance levels to new heights. Coaches will seek to train individuals in the specific requirements of their playing position so that they can make a more effective contribution to the game.
15 & 16 Year Olds Having perfected their technique, the emphasis for players on these courses is tactical awareness and positional sense within the competitive environment. There is a heavy emphasis placed on players reacting quickly and effectively to match situations in order to improve their performance.
Girls Programme For those girls that prefer to play in the company of the same gender, we offer courses led by female staff that take into account the cultural sensitivities prevalent in the Gulf region. However, the aim is still to PLAY THE ARSENAL WAY and our methods remain consistent with the other groups in the appropriate age range.
Goalkeeping Clinics The goalkeeper has a unique role in the game of football and as such our specialist clinics are designed to cover all of the particular requirements entailed. We cover positional sense, communication, handling, footwork, distribution, dealing with crosses, shot-stopping, kicking, agility and flexibility.
